Our March meeting was a bit of a disappointment due to the non-appearance of Jason Breech who was booked to entertain us for the evening. It seems he got his dates mixed up and thought it was Wednesday night not Tuesday
After a phone call from John Owen our events organiser Jason was most embarrassed and full of apologies. All is forgiven and Jason is now re-booked for our June meeting.
The night was not a complete disaster as two of our members rallied round and gave talks on rocking horse carving and tree surgery.
Next month we are expecting a lively demonstration on tool techniques from Chris Pouncey from Robert Sorbey tools. As well as demonstrating Chris will have tools and equipment for sale at discounted prices. This is an opportunity to obtain quality tools at a bargain price. Chris is also a committee member of the Somerset Woodturning club based in Bridgwater. If anyone is considering joining a second club you could do a lot worse than join this well supported club. If you want any info I am sure Chris will be pleased to give any help he can.
Next months meeting is our last, prior to our May 2008 AGM. Anyone who wishes to propose another member for a committee position will need to make us aware of their proposals next month. All committee positions are up for election and all proposals will be welcome. Remember it is your club and if you want to have an influence get yourself proposed and have a go.
I have thought for some time that someone should give consideration to health an safety .To this end I have given it consideration and put my thoughts into print under Hints & Tips.
